TOLERATE THIS OR ELSE!

#1) Annihilating God.

A) Today I want to preach about Tolerance in America.

- It seems today that the attitude toward the Christian is TOLERATE THIS OR ELSE.

- There is a movement today in this country to eliminate God from every area of life.

- Everyone is familiar with Judge Roy Moore and the Ten Commandments being removed from the courthouse.

- If these same commandments were changed into a cute little poem that rhymed and no one connected it with the Bible or God there would be no uproar.

- Lets go to our text.

B) Psalm 2:1-12 David was dealing with similar issues in his day.

- It seems everything under the sun today is tolerated except for God and his ways.

- We as Christians are expected to tolerate everything the world promotes as acceptable.

- We are also expected to cease from all activities and or beliefs that the world doesn’t like.

- I’m sorry but I wont stop preaching, I wont stop living for Jesus AND I WONT STOP CALLING A SIN A SIN.

- This is the problem these people have; they want God out of the world because God and the Word point out sin.

- The Ten Commandments just look at them quickly.

- (1) No other Gods before me (2) No graven images (3) Do not take the name of the lord in vain (4) Keep the Sabbath holy (5) Honor father and mother (6) Do not murder (7) Do not commit adultery (8) Do not steal (9) Do not bear false witness (10) Do not covet.

- These basic moral laws are what keeps our society from falling apart.

C) These simple Godly truths cause the ungodly to RAGE.

- When it speaks of them rage it means just what it says.

- Let them rage, I don’t care how intolerable Gods word is to them.

- Why should we let the heathen tell us, Gods people, what we can and cannot do?

- Don’t expect it to get any better, but don’t give up either.

- Don’t be surprised when one day an open homosexual walks through the church doors and our government says you must accept his life choice.

- They will tell us our beliefs are intolerable, we must accept this lifestyle.

- After all homosexual priests are flourishing.

D) They will tell us “Tolerate it or else”.

- We will be labeled as hate mongers.

- Never forget this is an attack on God and we should not tolerate their ungodly actions against his word.

- We are not to break the law, but if the law says bibles are illegal then break the law.

- If the law says we cannot worship God then break the law.

- If the law says we will not tolerate church then break the law.

- Its an attack on Jesus, remember what He said “The gates of hell will not prevail against the church”.

#2) Following God.

A) If we're going to follow anything lets follow Gods word.

- Gods word says we are to be a living sacrifice, it will be a sacrifice to live for God, lets follow His word.

- This is exactly what the apostles did, they put Gods word above all.

- Acts 4:1-3 The apostles didn’t let opposition stop them.

- Acts 4: 15-18 The agenda hasn’t changed much if our government today wants to DESTROY JESUS.

- These Priest and Saducees had to let the apostles go because they had done nothing wrong, yet they “threatened them and commanded them to speak of Jesus no more”.

- Don’t be surprised if one day in our lifetime our government because of special interest groups tells us the same thing.

B) Acts 4: 23-25 If it happened in David’s day and in the days of the apostles don’t be shocked because it’s happened in our time.

- Expect it to be more severe with time, but don’t fear.

- The apostles weren’t troubled; in verse 24 they lifted their voice to God they praised him.

- They testified of him as Creator of all, they were not troubled but encouraged.

- They now understood “why the heathen rage”, they understood that this life is a battle of good and evil.

- Acts 4: 26 Expect that the world will not tolerate us; this world is not our home.

- These rulers in our world are “gathered together against the Lord”, they hate the things of God.

- The Bible says the day will come when they will call evil good and good evil.

C) These Priest and Saducees aren’t done with these apostles yet.

- Acts 5:26-29 This is Gods inspired infallible word and Peter says it’s “We ought to obey God rather than men”.

- We must tolerate them, but we must obey God first.

- As Gods children and as Gods church we are accountable to God and so are they.

- This is why we must be burdened to tolerate these people who hate God and his ways.

- We must as Gods children understand that they need God, we cant expect them to understand Gods ways or His word.

- They cannot understand in their lost condition.

- We must be burdened for their eternal state, because right now they are enjoying Gods mercy and grace.

D) Psalms 2:3-4 The rage of the heathen toward God and His people is a sign of the end times.

- It’s only going to get worse and they will only become more intolerant of those who proclaim Jesus and His word.

- This should cause His church to redeem our time even that much more.

- The time is coming when God will laugh at them and in His WRATH vex them.

- The truth is that GOD WILL NOT TOLERATE THEM WITHOUT PUTTING THEIR TRUST IN JESUS.

- Psalms 2:12 Put your trust in Jesus today.

- Don’t put it off any longer because the time is near.
